Although Mars Bar is my nickname, this slice actually has nothing to do with me. Rather it’s made with Mars Bars and they were on special at Coles yesterday so I bought 6 of them, ate one, and used the other 5 to make this delicious slice. It’s a favourite in my house and it never lasts long. In fact, I hide my own stash in the fruit and vegetable drawers as no one ever looks in them so I know it’ll be there when I want it with a cup of tea…or for lunch! Be careful not to burn the MARS BAR when you’re melting it with the butter – do it on low heat and stir continuously – it won’t take long. Also note that this slice needs to be kept in the fridge and is yummiest eaten cold.
MARS BAR SLICE
INGREDIENTS
250g MARS BAR (chopped)
70g butter
3 cups rice bubbles
200g milk chocolate buttons
METHOD
Step 1: Line a brownie size slice tray with baking paper.
Step 2: On low heat melt butter and MARS BAR, stirring continuously.
Step 3: Once melted, take off heat and tip in rice bubbles. Stir until well combined.
Step 4:Pour into tray.
Step 5: Melt the chocolate buttons in the microwave – I do it in a glass measuring jug. 30 secs on high, mix with a plastic spatula. Then another 30 secs on high and mix with a spatula until smooth and runny.
Step 6: Pour over the rice bubble mixture and use spatula to cover the entire surface. Put it in the fridge and let it chill for a couple of hours.
Step 7: Take out of fridge and using a large knife cut into little squares.
Step 8: Hide from the kids! Enjoy XX
That You Slice is dangerously good.
